One of Australia's most beautiful insects, this large Jewel Beetle occurs in rainforests from northern NSW to northern QLD. It lives in the forest canopy where it feeds on numerous types of flowers, a reason why it is seldom seen by people.
This genus of beetle is restricted to north-eastern Australia and Papua New Guinea, with the latter having some incredible lesser known species becoming vulnerable due to rampant deforestation.
In Asia, they got a nick name "PIKACHU Jewel Beetle".
